“Backpack Challenge” a Success

Calvary Meets the “Backpack Challenge”

Backpack Challenge

Melissa Hart of Franklin Elementary and Pastor Alex Martin of Calvary help unload items collected in this year’s Backpack Challenge.

This September, members of Calvary Baptist were challenged to collect 5500 food items to support the Backpack program at Franklin Elementary School, an outreach that provides children from “food insecure” families with something healthy to eat during the weekend when school lunches are not available to them. As the month draws to a close, we’re happy to report that a total of 8500 items has been collected – along with some additional financial donations that will be used to purchase more food as it is needed! Thank you so much to our church family for helping make this effort a success. Because of your generosity, Calvary is able to “be a blessing” to our community.
