Church Responds to Opioid Abuse
In recent months, our pastor has been attending a series of dialogue sessions sponsored by Surry County to discern ways that area churches can be involved in combatting the tragedy of opioid abuse. Some of you know that in just the last two years, several families in our church have lost friends and loved ones to this terrible epidemic. While these dialogues are ongoing, one of the first clear “action steps” that churches can take involves providing transportation for those who are trying to break free from substance use and who need a lift to their treatment appointments. If you’d be interested in learning more about this opportunity – or if you’d like to become a part of our “transportation network” – please contact the pastor.
