Such study has an even\u00a0<em>greater<\/em> impact when it takes place in the context of a small group, where other believers provide encouragement, challenge, and the opportunity to transform concepts into action. That&#8217;s why small group Bible study stands at the center of our efforts to lead people into a deeper relationship with Christ and with each other. While many different study options are available through our Wednesday Night Ministry and our Men&#8217;s and Women&#8217;s Ministries, the core of our Bible study can still be found in our weekly Sunday School. Every Sunday morning at 9:45, classes for everyone in the family offer fun, fellowship and journey into the teachings of scripture. Classes for children and youth are organized by age and school grade. But adults have an array of men&#8217;s women&#8217;s and coed classes to choose from. Check the list below for a brief description of these adult study options, and visit our church documents page for a listing of all classes, along with a facility map that indicates where they meet. <div class=\"responsive-tabs\">\n<h2 class=\"tabtitle\">Men's Classes<\/h2>\n<div class=\"tabcontent\">\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Men\u2019s <\/strong>\u00a0(Room 200): The Men\u2019s Class is comprised primarily of men who are age 45 and above. They use LifeWay\u2019s <em>Explore the Bible<\/em> curriculum and are teaching intensive, with class discussion providing an integral part of the lesson. provide funding for many church and community mission activities. (<em>Teachers: Johnny Surratt, Jay Williams<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div><h2 class=\"tabtitle\">Women's Classes<\/h2>\n<div class=\"tabcontent\">\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Open Arms Class<\/strong> (Room 118): The Open Arms Class is comprised primarily of women who range in age from their 40\u2019s to their 70\u2019s. They use LifeWay\u2019s <em>Explore the Bible<\/em> curriculum and aim for a good blend of teaching and discussion. The class tries to meet once a month outside of class for fellowship, and they are constantly on the lookout for ministry projects that will allow them to meet the needs of others. (<em>Teachers: Hope Lineberry, Sue Westmoreland<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ruth Class<\/strong> (Room 111): The Ruth Class is comprised of women who range in age from their 40\u2019s to their 80\u2019s. They use LifeWay\u2019s <em>Explore the Bible <\/em>curriculum and are very mission-minded, prayerfully asking God\u2019s guidance in where and how they should serve. Past and current projects include supporting the local elementary school, missionaries serving in countries around the world, the North Carolina Baptist Children\u2019s Home, and other needs as they arise. The class gathers monthly at a local restaurant to share a meal. (<em>Teacher: Brenda Barfield<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Golden Circle Class<\/strong> (): The Golden Circle class is comprised primarily of women who are age 70 and above. They use LifeWay\u2019s <em>Explore the Bible<\/em> curriculum and share active discussion. The class ministers to homebound members of the church by sending cards on birthdays and other occasions. (<em>Teachers: Jill Shelton<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div><h2 class=\"tabtitle\">Coed Classes<\/h2>\n<div class=\"tabcontent\">\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Young Adults<\/strong> (Room 202 B): The Young Adult Class is comprised of men and women who range in age from their early 20\u2019s to their 40\u2019s. They use the <em>Nurturing Faith<\/em> curriculum that is published by Baptists Today, and they emphasize a strong sense of family in both their study and their fellowship. Everyone is welcomed with open arms. (<em>Teachers: Gray Shelton, Steve Simandle<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>God\u2019s Hands Class<\/strong> (Room 117): The God\u2019s Hands Class is comprised of both men and women from a wide range of ages. They use LifeWay\u2019s <em>Explore the Bible<\/em> curriculum but occasionally put this aside to do short video-based studies on relevant topics. The class is energetic, discussion-based, and has a heart for service. (<em>Teachers: Benny Lisk, Mary McCormick, Kim Morrison<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pairs and Spares Class<\/strong> (Room 113): The Pairs and Spares Class is comprised of both men and women from a wide range of ages. They use LifeWay\u2019s <em>Explore the Bible<\/em> curriculum and seek and in-depth understanding and application of scripture, accomplishing this through fellowship, sharing, discussion, joy and fun. (<em>Teachers: Carol Lowe, David Stone<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Pathfinders Class<\/strong> (Room 121): The Pathfinders Class is a friendly, eclectic, family-oriented class comprised of men and women who range in age from their 20\u2019s to their 50\u2019s and who consider themselves to be \u201cpretty cool for old people.\u201d All ages are welcome! The class uses video-driven studies on issues that are relevant to everyday life and that encourage group discussion. The outlook is casual, with an active participation in ministries both within and outside the class setting. (<em>Teachers: Sam Critz, Randy Gentry<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coed 4 Class<\/strong> (Fellowship Hall): The Coed 4 Class is comprised of both men and women who are age 45 and older. They use Smyth &amp; Helwys\u2019 <em>Formations<\/em> curriculum and place a strong emphasis on support of class members. The group enjoys eating together and providing support to the youth and children of the church. (<em>Teachers: Mike Francis, Kenny Nowlin<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Truth Seekers Class<\/strong> (Room 119): The Truth Seekers Class is comprised of both men and women who are age 45 and older. They use LifeWay\u2019s <em>Explore the Bible<\/em> curriculum and rely heavily on discussion to help participants internalize God\u2019s Word and grow spiritually. The class puts God\u2019s love into action by participating in a variety of church missions and class activities. (<em>Teachers: Earl Varney, Jan Varney<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div><b>Narrow Gate Class<\/b>: The Narrow Gate class is for those who wish to gain a closer relationship with Jesus and a deeper understanding of God&#8217;s Word through in-depth, topical Bible studies. Each study is completed over an average time span of about 6 weeks and is publicized to the church so that others may temporarily join for a topic of interest. These studies include daily &#8220;homework&#8221; to be completed throughout the week to encourage individual spiritual growth and enhance group discussions during Sunday morning meetings. While many participants choose to &#8220;drop in&#8221; for a study here and there, there are others who are permanent members of the class. Unique perspectives are offered by participants of all ages and varied backgrounds. The only requirement is a sincere desire to grow in Christ!
